Summary: To explore the area of equality and diversity within mental health, looking at the issues faced by marginalised and minority groups. Particularly focusing on the issues, barriers and needs of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities in accessing mental health services. Allowing participants to actively consider what they can do within their role to ensure that services are embrace and encompass difference.
Target Audience: This course is suitable for staff, managers and volunteers working within health, social care and related areas, who have contact with those who have mental health issues. Duration: Three half-day sessions
Summary: Session one offers an introduction to Personality, and Personality Disorders. Session two then allows us to explore challenges of working therapeutically with people with personality disorder and risk behaviour. The third day will be an interactive session with a strong reflective element. Summary: To engage attendees to consider the merits of moving away from compliance and towards concordance. This shift is key to a practitioner being able to facilitate a readiness to change.
